Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a clinical setting. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, performing screenings, assisting with procedures, and managing basic lab tasks in alignment with CLIA and practice policies.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited Medical Assistant program, current BLS, and at least two years of clinical experience, with strong teamwork, communication, and EMR skills.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
• Experience in a clinical practice setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and facility policies.
• Performs patient rooming tasks: vitals, med recs, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab duties per CLIA rules.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen handling, and POCT as required.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Maintains clean work area and proper inventory, supports onboarding.
