Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical teams in patient rooming, vital signs, history taking, and preventive screenings. You will assist providers with procedures, manage specimen collection, and perform CLIA-waived lab tests under standing orders.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion or 2 years of MA experience, BLS certification within 45 days, and strong communication with patients and team members.

Qualifications

• Must have 1) High School Diploma or GED; 2) completed Medical Assistant program or 2 years MA experience within last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, screenings, etc.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties and POCT per standing orders; CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles referrals, scheduling, and messaging as needed.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and may train teammates.
