Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical care in a patient-focused environment. You will perform rooming tasks, collect vital signs, review allergies and medical history, and assist providers with procedures.

Responsibilities include lab work, medication administration, scheduling, referrals, and ensuring a clean, compliant workspace. Prioritize patient safety and effective communication with the care team.

Qualifikationen

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
• PEARS may be required within 1 year in select areas.
• Successful completion of Atrium Health’s competency assessment.
• Professional governance, safety coach, super-user, vaccine coordinator, SPICE or OSHA/IP certificate holder for unit desired.
• Achieves 6 points from the list of additional market responsibilities.

Aufgaben

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows all policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, screenings.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab tasks: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines following rights of medication administration.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals, and patient messaging.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures instruments/equipment are stocked and functioning.
• May assist with training and onboarding of teammates.
