Job summary

Vanderlande Industries B.V. is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support large-scale automated material handling projects in North America.

You will convert sales drawings into RFQs, develop detailed 3D models, and coordinate with electrical, controls, and installation teams to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery. The role demands a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or ME/ET, 5+ years of experience (8 years with an Associate), and travel up to 33%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or ME/ET.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience (or 8 years with an Associate).
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 33%.
• Ability to translate concepts into detailed designs and work in a collaborative environment.
• Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with project management and deliverables tracking.

Responsibilities

• Translate sales drawings into a functional mechanical system description for RfP development.
• Optimize the design from concept to working solution within budget with other disciplines.
• Develop 3D models and manage clash detection; produce 2D approval and installation drawings.
• Perform spatial analysis for clearances and egress, and verify vendor submissions.
• Engineer non-standard interfaces and ensure safety and ergonomic standards.
• Create motor manifests with electrical/controls requirements; document decisions for site teams.
• Travel to project sites and support installation and commissioning on-site and from Marietta.
