Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Minimum of 2 years related work experience (or Associate ME/ET with 5 years).
• Willing to travel domestically up to 50% with occasional international opportunities.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer drawings and specifications into a fully functional mechanical system.
• Optimize functionality from as-sold to a working mechanical design within the budget with other disciplines.
• 3D modeling of systems and clash detection management.
• Produce 2D customer approval and installation layout drawings.
• Perform spatial analysis of clearance envelopes and pathways.
• Compute system and component level calculations (throughput, motor power, belt pull).
• Engineer non-standard design applications and interfaces.
• Apply safety regulations and ergonomics.
• Specify mechanical equipment, Vanderlande and third-party items.
• Create motor manifest for electrical and controls needs.
• Document engineering decisions and provide installation instructions.
• Travel to site for surveys; support installation and commissioning.
• Manage project documentation in a rights-based database.
