Job summary

Vanderlande is seeking a Specialist Mechanical Project Engineer to shape the North American Engineering Airport Department. You will design and deliver high-quality mechanical systems for the busiest airports, mentoring engineers and collaborating across disciplines.

Lead responsibilities include translating customer needs, optimizing baggage handling functionality, and delivering detailed models with AutoCAD/Revit while ensuring safe, compliant designs. Domestic travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in project management or leading teams.
• Material Handling Experience.
• Proficient in AutoDesk tools: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, ACC/Forma.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Project.
• Clear communication and proactive collaboration.
• Willing to travel domestically up to 10% with international opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to mentor and develop engineers.
• Translate customer requirements into mechanical systems.
• Optimize baggage system functionality with cross-functional team.
• Design and deliver mechanical models using Revit and AutoCAD 3D.
• Ensure safe designs via spatial analysis of clearance and ergonomics.
• Perform system and component calculations (throughput, motor power, etc.).
• Coordinate building interfaces and resolve clashes for constructability.
• Support procurement with BOMs and RFQs.
• Provide engineering documentation for installation and execution.
• Support installation and commissioning on-site and remotely.
