Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 33%.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and 3D and Autodesk suite (Revit, Navisworks, Vault, BIM360, ACC).

Responsibilities

• Translate sales drawings and specifications into a functional mechanical system description for an RfP.
• Optimize functionality from as-sold concept into a working mechanical design within budget across disciplines.
• Develop 3D models and manage clash detection; produce 2D customer approval and installation drawings.
• Perform spatial analysis for clearance envelopes and forklift aisles; conduct checks on vendor submissions.
• Engineer non-standard mechanical interfaces; create motor manifests with electrical/controls.
• Document engineering decisions with design plans and installation instructions for site teams.
• Travel to project sites for site surveys; support installation/commissioning from Marietta office.
• Maintain project documentation and control using a rights-based database system.
