Job summary

Vanderlande Industries GmbH seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer I to support a major North American e-commerce client program within the RMR team. You will translate sales drawings into a mechanical system description for RfP development and optimize designs across disciplines.

Responsibilities include 3D modeling, clash detection, and producing installation drawings, while coordinating with Electrical, Controls, and Installation teams. Travel up to 33% domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience (or 8 years with an Associate degree).
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 33%, with occasional international travel opportunities.
• Ability to translate concepts into detailed, manufacturable designs with strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Translate sales drawings and specs into a fully functional mechanical system description for an RfP.
• Optimize functionality from the as-sold concept into a working mechanical design within budget with other disciplines.
• Develop 3D models and manage clash detection; produce 2D customer approval drawings and layouts.
• Perform spatial analyses for clearance envelopes and forklift aisles; check vendor submissions.
• Engineer non-standard mechanical interfaces; apply safety and ergonomic standards.
• Travel to project sites to conduct site surveys and support installation/commissioning.
