Job summary

Blue Origin in Cape Canaveral, FL is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Project Engineer - Integration to design and integrate large-scale ground systems and GSE for launch operations. You will lead mechanical design, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive testing, activation, and handoff of complex systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, schedule management, and close collaboration with field technicians to ensure on-time delivery and compliance across the full project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
• 10+ years in design/analysis/construction of large mechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with design and system integration/activation.
• Experience leading designs from concept to commissioning.
• CAD tools experience for mechanical design.
• FEA experience required; GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with heavy-duty mechanisms and bolted joints.
• U.S. citizen, national, or eligible for U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop large-scale mechanical ground systems and GSE.
• Perform and review FEA and hand-calcs for complex systems.
• Serve as primary contact for integration, testing, and activation.
• Develop and drive integrated fabrication/installation/schedule.
• Track deliverables, issues, and risks; communicate with leadership.
• Oversee external fabrication/installation contractors and quality.
• Lead handoff of commissioned systems to operations with complete documentation.
