Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Lead Mechanical Project Manager to be based in Texas. You will manage all mechanical activities for large, complex projects from pre-construction through occupancy, serving as the main mechanical liaison among client, GC, EPC, and internal teams.

You will oversee installation of critical systems, coordinate with multi-discipline teams, and lead commissioning and turnover activities. A Bachelor's degree with significant construction experience and certifications such as PMP/CCM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification.
• Experience managing large-scale industrial, mission-critical or data center projects.
• Knowledge of MEP systems, electrical distribution, cooling infrastructure and critical facility operations.
• Understanding of construction means and methods, project delivery processes and contract administration.
• Familiarity with commissioning processes and operational readiness planning and execution.
• Experience managing mechanical scopes in excess of $100M in construction value.
• Experience with cloud-based PMIS and project controls platforms.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical project management on assigned projects from pre-construction through occupancy.
• Serve as primary mechanical contact between client, GC, EPC, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure alignment of mechanical infrastructure with overall project objectives.
• Oversee installation of mechanical systems including chillers, CRAH/CRAC units and piping.
• Monitor contractor performance and conduct field inspections for quality and schedule.
• Coordinate milestones with electrical, civil, architectural, and commissioning teams.
• Provide technical direction and ensure compliance with design, budget and quality requirements.
• Facilitate commissioning activities, phased start-up, and turnover of building portions.
• Review pay applications and coordinate with client and project controls for documentation.
