Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Data Center Mechanical Engineer Lead to drive the design of complex data center infrastructure, coordinating with electrical and project teams to deliver on time.

You will oversee HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing systems, develop equipment specifications, and support construction activities. A PE license and 10+ years in data center experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of data center infrastructure experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary client liaison, responding to inquiries and concerns.
• Lead mechanical design coordination with HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing.
• Develop equipment specifications for pumps, fans, and AHUs.
• Support construction with RFIs and site questions; ensure schedule adherence.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to integrate systems.
• Evaluate energy usage and identify optimization opportunities.
