Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Facilities Division across Boise, ID; Madison, WI; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; Overland Park, KS, with remote options for the right candidate. You will lead complex mechanical design and construction projects, coordinating with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and utility piping design, plus an engineering license and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and utility piping design.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Knowledge of mechanical systems such as heating, hydronics, steam, and refrigeration.
• Proficiency with engineering principles, design/build, and permitting processes.
• Experience with building and infrastructure design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, blueprints, and reports.
• Apply high-level mechanical engineering techniques to identify improvements in complex projects.
• Conduct investigations of site conditions to ensure compliance with regulations and permits.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; coordinate with owners and clients.
• Lead mechanical design and construction management for rehabilitation, new builds, and upgrades.
• Mentor staff and maintain QA/QC standards across projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders on Federal, State, and local projects.
