Job summary

WSP USA's Facilities Division seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at multiple locations including Overland Park, Kansas; Boise, Idaho; Madison, Wisconsin; Austin, Texas; Houston, Texas. Open to remote for the right candidate.

We specialize in Food & Beverage, Federal, and Industrial facility design, delivering high-performing projects with responsible design. You will oversee data collection, design development, cost estimation, and coordination with owners and sub-consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and utility piping design.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Knowledge of mechanical systems including hydronics, steam, and gas.
• Proficient in engineering principles, design, permitting, and project work.
• Experience with design/build and construction management.
• Strong knowledge of codes, regulations, and QA/QC practices.
• Ability to coordinate with clients, regulators, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead large mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Oversee budgets, hours, and subcontractors.
• Mentor mid-level to senior team members.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
