Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical team lead based in a hybrid schedule requiring in-office work several days per week. You will oversee a team of engineers and designers, coordinate detailed design phases, and champion high-quality mechanical solutions across power, oil & gas facilities, and CO2/CCUS projects.

The role emphasizes leadership, design oversight, and collaboration with customers and the project team, with opportunities for travel to client offices and sites.

Qualifications

• BSME from ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program is required ; MSME preferred.
• Ten or more years experience in the design of mechanical engineering systems for heavy industrial plants (power, oil & gas, or chemical).
• Three or more years experience in leading an engineering design team through all phases of a project design.
• PE license or ability to earn a PE license is required.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the Mechanical team lead by overseeing a team of engineers and designers in coordinating detailed design phases.
• Developing integrated systems designs for power plant mechanical systems and oil & gas facilities.
• Preparing and reviewing calculations, specifications, material lists, piping drawings, and engineering studies.
• Providing guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers.
