Sargent & Lundy seeks a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead in the United States with a hybrid work schedule (in-office 3 days/week). You will lead a team of junior and senior engineers, tackle complex mechanical design challenges, and coordinate detailed design phases for diverse projects in power, oil & gas, and chemical sectors.

The role emphasizes integrated system design, specifications, and calculations, plus peer reviews, client interaction, and mentoring.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Power/industrial plant design experience preferred.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Engineering design efforts for a team of engineers and designers.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve mechanical engineering issues.
• Act as Mechanical team lead coordinating detailed design phases.
• Develop integrated system designs and supporting calculations.
• Prepare technical specifications for equipment.
• Prepare engineering studies.
• Perform independent reviews of work and calculations.
• Coordinate with engineers, PMs, clients, and suppliers for timely design.
• Review existing facilities for upgrades or replacements with recommendations.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and share knowledge.
