Job summary

RTX Tucson-based Senior Mechanical Engineer role focuses on designing and sustaining complex test environment systems for missile defense products, including vibration, thermal, and RF testing. This role is 100% onsite in Tucson, AZ and requires ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute across all lifecycle stages from initial design to sustainment, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools CREO/ProE.
• GD&T and mechanical drawings experience.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical test systems used across advanced environments such as vibration and thermal testing.
• Build and validate test solutions delivering high accuracy in production settings.
• Diagnose production issues and propose design improvements for better performance.
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers across the lifecycle from design to sustainment.
