Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team in Plano, TX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Team Leader to guide the mechanical engineering group on diverse, large-scale projects. You will lead technical design, plan staffing, manage budgets, and ensure quality and schedule adherence, collaborating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

This in-office role requires PE licensure, 12–15 years of experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• PE licensure required; licensure in additional states is asset.
• 12–15 years of professional building mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience in technical leadership or engineering management preferred.
• Proficiency with HVAC and building mechanical systems and codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Engineering Team, manage workload and staffing.
• Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.
• Mentor junior staff through project work and training.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and design approaches.
• Lead HVAC system design and selection on projects.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and disciplines.
