Job summary

Stantec's Plano, TX office seeks an Electrical Engineer to apply engineering principles and client service skills to deliver outstanding projects.

You will lead electrical design across multiple projects, interpret codes, perform system calculations, and coordinate specifications with other disciplines. Licensure in Texas is preferred, with 5+ years of relevant experience. The role involves fieldwork and regional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer licensure in TX is preferred.
• 5+ years of electrical design experience for buildings; sectors include Higher Ed, K-12, commercial, workplace, S&T.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and standards; ability to integrate with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design on multiple projects of varying complexity.
• Interpret drawings, codes, and related materials.
• Perform calculations and design of building electrical systems using standard software.
• Prepare and coordinate project specifications with construction documents.
• Collaborate with architecture, interiors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Assist in scope, budget, staffing and schedule development.
• Conduct fieldwork and site observations.
• Lead project coordination meetings with stakeholders and contractors.
• Mentor team members and help develop electrical group standards.
