Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team invites a Senior Structural Project Engineer to work independently on small and medium projects and lead larger teams. You will evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems for projects, while coordinating with architects, interior designers, and other engineering disciplines.

Minimum 6+ years of related experience, a B.S. in engineering, and PE license are preferred; Revit and industry software experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; PE license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural systems and seismic design.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit and industry software.
• Ability to lead junior engineers and coordinate with teams.
• Excellent communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small and medium projects
• Development of job specific specifications independently for less complex projects
• Lead junior engineers in complex projects
• Coordinate with architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines
• Independently perform Construction Administration duties including RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and Owner clients
• Understand industry standard design processes and construction means and methods
• Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects on time and on budget
• Assist with development of design standards
