Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Undersea & Electronics Systems Department to manage Back-End Electronics technology. You will oversee mechanical design, system integration, and documentation for radar back-end components, ensuring alignment with program goals and customer requirements.

This full-time, on-site role requires an active DoD Secret clearance; travel may be involved for hardware build and test.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Advanced degree in a related field is preferred with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience designing mechanical systems for military, aerospace, or commercial applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical hardware solutions for radar back-end electronics across product lifecycle.
• Lead design and development from early phases through transition to production.
• Ensure cost, schedule, quality, and performance targets are met for the finished product.
