Job summary

Raytheon Technologies seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Airborne Radar Design department in El Segundo, CA. This on-site role requires U.S.

citizenship and an active DoD security clearance, providing technical support across the hardware life cycle for airborne radar subsystems in a highly collaborative environment. You will lead design development, interface with senior engineers, and develop unit concepts from requirements, performing trades and detailing layouts using CAD tools,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with ANSI drawing standards and GD&T.
• Experience with electronic packaging for airborne applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on major programs and interface with Lead Mechanical Engineers and Chief Engineers to support design objectives.
• Lead smaller project teams through design development, ensuring procedures are followed and program design objectives are met.
• Work from requirements to develop unit design concepts and perform design trades.
• Develop technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
• Complete detailed layouts and design documentation using CAD tools.
• Provide support to suppliers who fabricate components and assemblies.
• Understand the Engineering Change Release process and work within the PDM system.
• Act as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for a subsystem assigned to the program.
