Job summary

Raytheon, a global aerospace and defense leader, is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Design Engineer for the Radar Mechanical Design Department. The role focuses on leading mechanical design for advanced radar systems and components, with responsibilities spanning from early development to production, at onsite locations Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA.

Qualifications

Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of experience.
Experience designing mechanical elements for aerospace or military applications.
Experience with phase array structures and hardware integration in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Develop mechanical solutions for radar systems across the product life cycle.
Support program from early development through production readiness.
Lead mechanical development to meet system performance requirements.
Provide technical guidance and ensure standards compliance.
Balance risk, cost, schedule and performance in decisions.
Communicate with leadership and customers about technical direction.
Maintain responsibility for cost, schedule, quality and performance of the final product.
Work with minimal supervision to set technical objectives.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and customers.
Travel periodically to support hardware build and test.
