Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Radar Digital Products Department in Massachusetts. You will design COTS hardware infrastructure, select servers and storage, and define BIOS/OS configurations in a lab environment to support safety-critical radar systems.

You will collaborate with hardware, supply chain, field teams, and customers, and travel as needed both domestically and internationally. A DoD Secret clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM.
• Minimum five years of professional experience.
• Experience with Unix and Linux operating systems.
• Experience turning a system concept into a complete COTS-based hardware design and verification.

Responsibilities

• Design COTS hardware infrastructure systems (e.g. X86-based processors).
• Research and selection of servers, workstations, add-in interface cards, storage devices, and other COTS hardware.
• Engineer BIOS and operating system configuration definitions.
• Work in a lab environment and operate standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, processor bus analyzers, emulators, and data capture tools.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, on-site installation and customers to develop safety-critical systems.
• Support occasional domestic and international travel.
