Job summary

RTX is hiring a Principal Mechanical Engineer to manage the execution and strategy for Back-End Electronics technology within the Undersea & Electronics Systems Department. You will lead mechanical design, modeling, documentation, and releases for radar back-end electronics, ensuring system performance while balancing cost and schedule.

The role requires a strong background in aerospace/mechanical design, the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance, and collaboration with cross‑functional

Qualifications

Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and relevant experience.
Experience in mechanical design for aerospace/military/similar applications.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

Develop sound technical solutions across the product life cycle.
Support program from early development through production transitions.
Lead mechanical development of radar back-end electronics systems and components.
Balance risk with cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
Maintain periodic customer and leadership communications on requirements and commitments.
Ensure on-time delivery and lead test and integration activities.
