Job summary
Raytheon is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical development of radar systems and components in a high-precision, defense-focused environment. You will design motion control actuators, gears, and bearings, and perform analyses to ensure reliability and manufacturability.
This onsite role requires DoD Secret clearance, US citizenship, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, manufacturing, and program leadership to deliver technically
Qualifications
- STEM degree with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Experience in mechanical design for aerospace/defense applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical design solutions for radar systems and subsystems across the full lifecycle.
- Design and analyze motion control actuation systems, including bearings and gears.
- Perform kinematic, dynamic, structural, and tolerance analyses.
- Create 3D models and manufacturing drawings for hardware realization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
