Job summary
Raytheon is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design engineer to develop solutions for mechanism and machine design challenges in radar systems. You will design actuation systems, geartrains and bearings, and perform kinematic and dynamic analyses.
Responsibilities include supporting the full design lifecycle, creating 3D models and GD&T documentation, and coordinating with manufacturing and test teams. Relocation assistance is available for a suitable candidate.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
- Experience of mechanical design for military or aerospace or commercial applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical design solutions for mechanism and machine design challenges in radar systems.
- Design motion control actuation systems, including actuators, geartrains and bearings.
- Perform kinematic and dynamic analyses and basic structural, thermal, tolerancing analyses.
- Support full mechanical design lifecycle from requirements to GD&T and documentation.
- Create 3D models, drawings, tolerance analyses and manufacturing documentation.
