RTX's Advanced Airframes Department in Tucson is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and optimize aerospace mechanisms and structures. This on-site role leads design efforts, develops prototypes, and supports testing to meet demanding aerospace standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mechanical design, GD&T proficiency, and CREO CAD experience; DoD Secret clearance is required. Occasional travel to vendors may be needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years of experience or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience in mechanical design and related manufacturing/tooling processes.
• Experience creating/updating drawings using a 3D CAD design tool.
• GD&T knowledge including tolerance analysis and drawing practices.

Responsabilités

• Conceptualize and implement innovative technical solutions for missiles, launchers, and electronics across the product lifecycle.
• Lead subsystems design as an engineering authority for end-to-end solutions.
• Conduct mechanical design analyses to ensure form, fit, and function.
• Provide leadership to small cross-functional teams across disciplines.
• Lead engineering efforts with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges.
• Mentor engineers and support testing and supplier coordination.
