Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Mechanical Analysis Engineer to support nuclear power uprate projects. Qualifications

• Requires a BSME from an ABET-accredited program with strong thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics background.
• 10+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Experience with nuclear power uprates and/or turbine retrofit projects.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for nuclear plant mechanical design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead licensing basis system and component evaluations for nuclear uprate projects.
• Prepare and review calculations related to heat balances, pumps, heat exchangers, and plant hazards.
• Lead and mentor junior engineering staff on power plant tasks.
• Interface with clients and project teams to present technical discussions and status.
