Job summary

Sargent & Lundy's Nuclear Power Group seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and evaluate plant systems, prepare modification packages, and create or review functional drawings and technical specs for nuclear power plants.

You will lead project teams, interface with clients at office or site locations, and contribute to cost estimates and engineering analyses, leveraging modern tools to deliver cost-effective, safe, and compliant designs.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• A minimum of five years of experience in the power industry.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants.
• Previous experience with power uprates and/or turbine related systems is favorable.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Involvement in engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems (hydraulic, heat transfer, heat balance).
• Prepare modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Create or review functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Perform vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment.
• Conduct studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
