Job summary

TKDA is seeking a Senior Professional Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of heavy industrial systems for mining, mineral processing, and metals projects. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, create plans and construction documents, and drive QA/QC from concept to construction.

You will mentor less experienced engineers, support business development, and collaborate with the Mechanical Group Manager and Market Managers to advance services and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) with ten or more years of experience in designing industrial mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of the project development process and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for proposals and client interactions.
• Ability to coach and develop junior staff in technical design standards and project management.
• Experience leading QA/QC reviews on mechanical projects.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel up to 10% (occasional overnight travel).

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for complex plant/building systems and site operations.
• Prepare mechanical plans, specifications, design details and construction documentation.
• Lead design teams and manage technical, quality, safety, and financial aspects from conception through construction.
• Mentor and develop junior team members and share knowledge across disciplines.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Group Manager, Market Managers, and Mining VP to support business development.
