Arc is electrifying the marine industry and expanding from consumer models to commercial applications. As Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will own HV power distribution architecture for large vessels and guide engineers across lifecycles—from concept to production and sea trials.

You’ll work on-site at our Los Angeles headquarters, reporting to the Manager, Powertrain Hardware Engineering, and mentor teams while coordinating with suppliers, shipyards, and operators.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years owning complete mechanical or electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems.
• Expert fundamentals in structural and thermal engineering.
• Experience with CAD software such as NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
• Experience with analysis and modeling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or FEA packages.
• Deep expertise in manufacturing methods and design-for-manufacturability (DFM).
• Hands-on hardware design, building, debugging, and troubleshooting in production or prototype environments.

Aufgaben

• Lead development of complex electromechanical systems across vessel programs from concept to production.
• Own high-voltage, high-power distribution architecture across domains.
• Direct electromechanical packaging for HV assemblies for manufacturability and marine use.
• Set busbar design, thermal sizing, and harness routing standards.
• Drive requirements and technical scope, anticipate blockers, guide design decisions.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and technical guidance.
• Lead engagement with suppliers, shipyards, manufacturing teams, and operators.
• Lead sea trials and field validation to verify system performance.
• Travel occasionally (~15%) for testing, validation, and field ops.
