Job summary

Arc Boats Co. is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to own the design, integration, and testing of high- and low-voltage electrical systems on our commercial vessels.

This on-site role is based at our Los Angeles headquarters and reports to the Manager, Commercial Systems Engineering. You will lead electrical topologies, I/O maps, and wiring definitions, collaborate with software teams for HW/SW integration, and drive hardware trade studies and supplier evaluations, with travel as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical systems integration, hardware development, or system-level engineering.
• Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems, power distribution, sensors, and actuators.
• Familiarity with CAN/J1939, Modbus, Profinet, EtherCAT protocols.
• Hands-on debugging HV/LV systems and harnesses using multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Experience developing system requirements, I/O allocation maps, interface definitions, and architectural docs.

Responsibilities

• Owning the design and integration of high and low voltage electrical systems for commercial marine vessels.
• Developing and maintaining electrical topologies, I/O maps, and wiring/harnessing definitions.
• Writing clear functional specifications and collaborating with the control software team for hardware-software integration.
• Leading hardware trade studies, component selection, and evaluating suppliers.
• Hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and debugging HV/LV systems in benchtop, HIL, and field environments.
• Supporting sea trials to validate systems and ensure feature parity between bench tests and production vessels.
• Interfacing with component suppliers, partner shipyards, and vessel operators, including travel (10-15%).
