Job summary

Arc Boats Co. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own major boat systems from concept to production as part of an on-site team in Los Angeles. You will lead the design, prototyping, and testing of hull, deck, interiors, and marine systems while collaborating with powertrain, battery, and controls teams.

You will guide design reviews, apply strong CAD/FEA fundamentals, and mentor others, with hands-on fabrication and on-site supplier interactions as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience from concept through production.
• Expert in CAD (NX preferred, CATIA or SolidWorks) with PLM systems (Teamcenter preferred).
• Experience working with composite structures.
• Strong fundamentals with hand calcs and FEA for validation.
• Design for manufacturing experience releasing parts to suppliers.
• Hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Own major boat systems from specification through design, prototyping, validation, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Design and release hardware across the full boat including hull, deck, interiors, and marine systems.
• Define system requirements and lead design reviews with tradeoffs on performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
• Lead prototyping through on-water testing and fixes into production.
• Coordinate with battery, powertrain, electrical, and controls teams on packaging and interfaces.
• Partner with industrial design, suppliers, and manufacturing on DFM and next-gen products.
• Mentor engineers and set technical standards for the team.
• Be comfortable hands-on in production or traveling to suppliers as needed.
