Job summary

Arc Boat Company is seeking a mechanical hardware engineer for our Los Angeles headquarters. You’ll own hardware from concept through production, collaborating with battery, powertrain, electrical, and controls teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field
  • 2+ years of industry experience (internships count!)
  • Proficiency in CAD (NX preferred, CATIA, or SolidWorks) and understands PLM systems
  • Basic grasp of the fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering and analysis
  • Willingness to provide hands on support with fabrication and assembly
  • Ability to articulate and defend design decisions
  • Comfortable working hands-on in production or traveling to suppliers when needed
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Strong time management & prioritization skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and release hardware for hull, deck, strings, hatches, and hardtop with Class A surfacing.
  • Owning hardware from specification through design, prototyping, validation, and high-volume manufacturing, including assembly structure, mass, cost and schedule.
  • Leading prototyping through on water testing, root-causing failures, and driving fixes into production
  • Integrating with battery, powertrain, electrical, and controls teams on packaging and interfaces
  • Partnering with industrial design, suppliers, and manufacturing on DFM and next-generation products
