Job summary

Arc is building electric propulsion and platform tech for marine vessels, seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the design and integration of electromechanical systems from concept to production.

This role is on-site at our Los Angeles headquarters, reporting to Powertrain Hardware Engineering. You will collaborate across mechanical, electrical, thermal, and manufacturing domains and drive validation, sea trials, and production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years owning complete mechanical/electromechanical systems through production.
• Functional knowledge of electrical systems incl. high‑voltage batteries and power electronics.
• Strong fundamentals in structural and thermal engineering.
• Experience with CAD software (NX/CATIA/SolidWorks).
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink/FEA tools.
• Design-for-manufacturability mindset; hands‑on hardware experience.
• Clear written and verbal communication; strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Own design and integration of electromechanical systems across the vehicle lifecycle.
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, thermal, and manufacturing domains.
• Define requirements, CAD design, prototyping, validation, and production support.
• Design for manufacturability, reliability, and real-world operating conditions.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, and iterate hardware in fast-paced development.
• Work with suppliers, shipyards, and operators to drive execution.
• Support sea trials and field validation to verify performance.
• Travel ~15% for testing, validation, and field ops.
