Job summary

Woolpert, a global leader in architecture, engineering and geospatial services, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design on complex projects. The role emphasizes mentoring staff, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering code-compliant, high-quality engineering deliverables.

You will design and optimize mechanical systems for diverse building types, perform CFD analyses with 6Sigma, and guide technical reviews while advancing Woolpert's mission of innovation

Qualifications

• BA/BS or MA/MS in related field; 7+ years experience preferred.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
• Experience with building HVAC systems for commercial, mixed-use, healthcare, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise.
• Familiarity with LEED, Green Building Institute, or other sustainability credentialing.
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with discipline-related software applications and calculation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and support HVAC and mechanical systems for complex buildings.
• Model airflow and cooling performance with CFD tools.
• Perform cooling load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present system options.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure code-compliant, high-quality deliverables.
• Develop and modify models, plans, and drawings according to standards.
• Present concepts during design reviews and project coordination meetings.
• Motivate and train team members.
