Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Systems team for Industrial Water projects, with responsibility to lead the design team and coordinate across US and international teams throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires a ABET‑accredited Mechanical Engineering degree, 11+ years of experience, and strong leadership in water/wastewater facilities, piping, and equipment data sheets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration/licensure to support engineer of record (EOR).
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team and manage deliverables across projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers on system design for complex industrial water/wastewater projects.
• Oversee development of engineering deliverables including P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping isometrics, data sheets and specs.
• Provide technical guidance on engineering calculations to size equipment and ensure code compliance.
