Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join the Mechanical Systems team for Industrial Water projects. You will lead a design team and work with domestic and international colleagues to plan, design, and deliver pumping, piping and equipment for water treatment facilities.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical guidance, and collaboration across disciplines, with flexible work options and an ESOP-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in engineering and professional licensure where applicable.
• Minimum 5 years related work experience or equivalent.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on industrial water/wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers on system design for industrial water/wastewater projects.
• Oversee development of engineering deliverables like P&IDs, equipment layouts, and data sheets.
• Provide technical guidance on calculations for equipment sizing.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and act as Responsible Engineer for select systems.
