Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design for industrial facilities and EPC projects. The role emphasizes delivering constructible, cost‑effective solutions in fast‑paced environments, collaborating with construction teams to turn engineered concepts into reality.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in mechanical or process engineering, with expertise in biogas, water/wastewater treatment, bulk solids handling, and associated equipment. PE/ET certification is valued.

Qualifications

• Requires ABET‑accredited mechanical engineering degree and EIT; PE license preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical/process engineering with industrial facility experience desired.
• Experience leading engineering/design teams in EPC/design‑build projects.
• Familiarity with CDU/CRAH, cooling systems, and data-center cooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and oversee mechanical systems for biogas, bulk solids handling, water/wastewater treatment, and related facilities.
• Lead design calculations, equipment specs, and adherence to codes and standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage third‑party engineering.
• Review contracts and RFPs to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Support construction on-site and provide design problem solving.
