Prairie Engineers, P.C. is seeking a licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team to lead MEP design for federal and institutional facilities from concept through construction documents.

You will mentor junior engineers, perform load calculations, specify equipment, and ensure QA/QC on mechanical deliverables while building strong client relationships in a flexible work environment offering remote, hybrid, or office options.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in building systems/MEP consulting.
• Illinois Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within six months.
• Licensure in multiple states is a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and load/energy software.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design of HVAC, chilled/hot water, plumbing and fire protection systems for military, federal, and institutional facilities from concept through construction documents.
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection and system analysis; prepare specifications and cost estimates.
• Seal drawings and serve as engineer of record; perform QA/QC on mechanical deliverables.
• Provide construction administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and punch lists.
• Mentor and direct mechanical designers and junior engineers.
• Build client relationships and help develop proposals, scopes, and fees.
