Talent Solutions Partners is helping a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Boston area. You will lead mechanical design on large projects, serving as technical lead for central plant and campus energy work, with some travel to client sites.

The role is hybrid and can sit in Greater Boston, central New Hampshire, or southern Maine offices. You will oversee design of HVAC systems, energy modeling, and decarbonization studies for institutional

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years designing HVAC systems for institutional and commercial buildings with leadership.
• Depth in central plant and hydronic design or energy modeling/LCC.
• Proficient in energy modeling/load calculation platforms (IES VE/TRACE/HAP).
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from feasibility through construction for large projects.
• Design heating/cooling plants and distribution systems (hot water, steam, chilled water).
• Design air-side systems and energy recovery with precise temperature/humidity control.
• Develop load calculations and whole-building energy models; compare options by life-cycle cost.
• Write control sequences and set building automation strategy.
• Lead decarbonization and electrification studies for campuses.
• Carry mechanical scope on LEED/Passive House/Living Building/WELL projects.
• Review work of engineers/designers and mentor staff.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, utilities and contractors.
• Represent the mechanical discipline in client meetings and design reviews.
