Your Talent Team is assisting a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm in Boston with a Senior Mechanical Engineer role. You will lead mechanical design on large projects, serving as technical lead for central plant and campus energy work, with a hybrid work arrangement across Greater Boston and New England offices.

The role requires 7+ years in HVAC design for institutional/commercial buildings, central plant/hydronic expertise, and proficiency in energy modeling tools.

Formación

• 7+ years designing HVAC systems for institutional and commercial buildings, with leadership experience.
• Depth in central plant and hydronic system design, or in building energy modeling and life-cycle cost analysis.
• Working proficiency in energy modeling and load calculation platforms (IES VE, Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, or similar).
• PE license preferred; able to present to clients and coordinate across disciplines.

Responsabilidades

• Run mechanical design from feasibility studies through construction documents and administration.
• Design heating/cooling plants and their distribution: hot water, steam, chilled water, ground-source and water-source heat pumps.
• Design air-side systems including air handling with energy recovery and tight humidity control.
• Build and check load calculations and energy models; compare options on life-cycle cost.
• Write control sequences and set building automation strategy for projects.
• Lead decarbonization and electrification studies for campus and institutional clients.
• Carry mechanical scope on LEED, Passive House, Living Building, or WELL projects.
• Review work of engineers and designers; develop them.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, utilities, and contractors.
• Represent the mechanical discipline in client meetings and design reviews.
