Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting is partnering with a multidisciplinary engineering firm to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Boston area. The role leads mechanical design for central plant and campus energy projects, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and energy studies.

Hybrid work is available in Greater Boston with some client-site travel. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of HVAC design experience, strong load modeling skills, and the ability to lead project teams and coordinate

Qualifications

7+ years designing HVAC systems for institutional/commercial buildings
Experience leading project teams and coordinating across disciplines
Comfortable presenting to clients and carrying several projects at once
PE license preferred

Responsibilities

Run mechanical design from feasibility studies through construction documents and administration
Design heating/cooling plants and distribution systems
Design air-side systems with energy recovery and humidity control
Build and check load calculations and energy models
Write control sequences and building automation strategies
Lead decarbonization and electrification studies for campus projects
Carry mechanical scope on LEED, Passive House, Living Building, or WELL projects
Review and mentor engineers and designers on your projects
Coordinate with architects, owners, utilities, and contractors
Represent the mechanical discipline in client meetings and design reviews
