Job summary

Talent With Heart is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for large institutional and commercial projects in a hybrid role based in the Greater Boston area, with travel to client sites as needed. The role focuses on central plant and campus energy systems, including HVAC and energy modeling.

The candidate will oversee design from feasibility through construction, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and support decarbonization and energy efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years designing HVAC for institutional and commercial buildings.
• Experience leading project teams.
• Proficiency with energy modeling tools (IES VE, TRACE, HAP).

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from feasibility to construction administration.
• Design central heating and cooling plants and distribution systems.
• Develop energy models and compare life-cycle costs.
• Write control sequences and automation strategies.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, and contractors.
• Represent the mechanical discipline in client meetings and reviews.
