Job summary

Markent Personnel is assisting a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm in Boston, MA. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design on major projects, serve as technical lead for central plant and campus energy work, and work in a hybrid setting with some travel to client sites.

The role requires experience in central plant, hydronic systems, and energy modeling, with proficiency in leading project teams and presenting to clients.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Run mechanical design from feasibility studies to construction documents and administration.
• Design heating and cooling plants and their distribution (hot water, steam, chilled water, GSHP, WH/SH)
• Design air-side systems including AHU with energy recovery, radiant heating/cooling, and humidity-controlled spaces
• Build and check load calculations and energy models, compare options on life-cycle cost
• Write control sequences and building automation strategies for projects
• Lead decarbonization and electrification studies for campus/institutional clients
• Carry mechanical scope on LEED, Passive House, Living Building, or WELL projects
• Review engineers' and designers' work and mentor them
• Coordinate with architects, owners, utilities, and contractors
• Represent the mechanical discipline in client meetings and design reviews
