Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks an Engineer - Mechanical III for Lunar Permanence avionics packaging. You will design rugged enclosures, perform structural and thermal analyses, and collaborate with electrical teams to integrate PCBs and interconnects. Create CAD models, drawings, and test fixtures, and guide prototypes through testing and production readiness.

The role spans multiple sites (Greater Seattle Area and Denver) with hybrid work and relocation possible for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
• 5+ years designing ruggedized electronic enclosures, optical assemblies, or similar high-performance hardware.
• Experience with static structural, modal, random vibration, and thermal analysis.
• Creo and FEA tools (Ansys) experience; GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and test avionics enclosures and assemblies housing electronics.
• Collaborate with electrical team for PCBs and interconnects, including thermal and structural analyses.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, and installation plans; build prototype assemblies.
• Plan and conduct tests; review data; support production and quality engineering.
• Manage design revisions through lifecycle and mentor others.
