Job summary

RTX located in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Advanced Airframes Department on-site. You will lead design, analysis, and optimization of aerospace mechanisms and structures, manage suppliers, and support testing to meet aerospace standards.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years) and proficiency in Creo CAD, GD&T, and 3D modeling.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience in mechanical design and manufacturing or tooling processes.
• Experience creating and updating engineering drawings with a 3D CAD tool.
• Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and drawing practices for mechanical hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for aerospace mechanisms and structures.
• Perform mechanical design analyses to ensure form, fit, and function.
• Collaborate across disciplines and with suppliers to deliver effective solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews.
