Job summary

RTX's Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department is seeking a Mechanical Structural Engineer to join the team in Tucson, AZ. You will work on products across their lifecycle, from initial design trade studies through qualification testing and enduring production support.

You will perform hand calculations and detailed analyses, generate test plans, analyze results, and collaborate with senior staff to ensure technical rigor. The role offers onsite work in Tucson with relocation eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related (STEM) major obtained by start date.
• Experience in structural design and analysis.
• Experience with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis.
• Perform detailed structural analyses to solve program design challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate/correlate models and generate mechanical loads.
• Work with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity to provide answers under cost and schedule constraints.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews ensuring accuracy of work product.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports.
