RTX invites applications for a Mechanical Structural Engineer in Tucson, AZ. This onsite role offers exposure to a full lifecycle from design trade studies to production support, with a team of experienced engineers guiding you.

You will perform structural analyses using industry-standard tools and contribute to test plans and validation efforts. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, has experience in structural design/analysis, and is familiar with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM major by start date.
Experience in structural design and analysis.
Experience with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software.

Responsibilities

Perform hand calculations and determine requirements for higher order detailed analysis.
Conduct detailed structural analyses to address program challenges.
Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements.
Analyze test data to validate models and generate mechanical loads.
Lead technical peer reviews to ensure accuracy of work products.
Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
Generate detailed archival technical reports.
