Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and optimization of aerospace mechanisms and structures within the Advanced Airframes Department. This onsite role focuses on delivering robust hardware by guiding design reviews, leading subsystems, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience (or an advanced degree with 3+ years) and experience in 3D CAD, GD&T, and mechanical

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
• Experience in mechanical design and/or advanced design development and related disciplines.
• Experience developing, creating, releasing, and updating engineering drawings using a 3D CAD tool.
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis; interpreting drawing practices for mechanical hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for aerospace mechanisms and structures across programs.
• Perform design analyses to ensure form, fit, and function.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve technical challenges and deliver design solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to develop technical excellence.
